My Kitchen Island

I found this antique table recently at a local antique shop. I have been searching for an old furniture piece to make a kitchen island.

My hubby took some free pallet wood and made me a base for the table to sit on. He then added the $2.99 table leg extensions under the base. This brought the table to standard counter height.

I did a dry stain with some Annie Sloan Graphite Chalk paint.  This gave me the rustic look I wanted.

I am super happy with my new kitchen island! Adding this piece of antique furniture to my kitchen was a perfect mix!

  1. This looks fabulous! I like the added height. Great idea!

  2. Love that idea for a kitchen much character!
