I shared with you my kitchen remodel here over the summer. Now I will share with you how I came up with the idea of using bead board back splash for my kitchen. I recently took a fall vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains, and I visited a favorite store of mine. You can read about my visit here. I stood staring at this cabinet for almost 30 minutes and had one of those moments!
You know the kind where you are all of the sudden inspired to do a project? I took several pics and decided after studying them for quite some time that I would add bead board back splash to my kitchen!
My kitchen remodel turned out just as I envisioned (which rarely happens). I painted my cabinets with Annie Sloan Old White and added chrome hardware. My grandfather made my special order laminate counter tops for me. I loved every result! I hit a road block when I got to the back splash. I have seen many homes with bead board as a back splash. I have to admit that I had a hard time deciding if I wanted tile, or an old world brick look. I hadn't entertained the idea of bead board at this point.
When I saw the cabinet I scanned it for awhile because it looks very similar to my kitchen remodel. I quickly noticed the back was bead board, and I knew this was it! I loved that I could see a finished sample right in front of me!
I feel like my new inspiration is just the right pick for me!
I am very happy with the final outcome for my kitchen. I need to mention that this is a very inexpensive way to add back splash to an area of your home! I also love that I can paint it any color I want! I am so happy with my new to me kitchen remodel!
My kitchen is not always this clean! Here are a few pics of my very lived in kitchen. My daughter loves to make sugar cookies this time of year. So I will leave you with some real pics of my kitchen at Christmas time!
