From Trash to Treasure!

A year ago my husband and I were riding around in our neighborhood one Saturday afternoon, when we saw the most unbelievable hutch sitting by the side of the road as TRASH! That's right, this hutch was set to the road for the trash man to pick up on Monday morning! We saw the owner out in his yard and double checked that it was trash. He told us to take it, and that he did not want to take the time to repair the door. This is a picture of my hutch the day we brought it home.

Here is a picture of my 'new to me' hutch after my hubby worked his magic! I still cannot believe this was in the trash! I look at it some days and shake my head at such a find!

I am going to leave you with some pictures of my hutch and how I have enjoyed it this past year!

This is a great example of the old saying "One man's junk is another mans treasure." I love my trash find!

I cannot explain why I love this hutch more than all the other pieces of furniture I own! Perhaps it is because it was FREE!

  9. What a great piece! Love it's lines - a little bit country, a little bit shabby, a little bit Old English manor house or French Provence. It would have been a shame for this lovely piece to end up in the landfill!
